SPOTS 3 & 4
Take a close look at this. Is this sedimentary or igneous (be careful; sometimes it's very difficult to tell)? The picture doesn't really bring out the details. It is fine grained, maroon, and contains very closely spaced planes which causes the rock to split into thin slabs. Answer

SPOT 5
Check it out!!! The rocks drastically change. They are sandier and contain rather large cobbles of various different rocks. What happened between here and the last spot? (We will discuss the cobbles in later spots at this stop). By the way, great scenery between spot 5 and 6. Answer

This makes you want to find a tree and settle down for a nice, quiet nap!
SPOTS 6 and 7
As we walk along the trail, note the scattered outcrops and loose boulders found along here. Something to keep in mind that will be discussed at spot 8: do the cobbles touch each other the way they did back at stop 1 at the beginning of the day? Look at the picture to the left. What do you think? Answer
