Back to Joyce of Dublin  Glendalough  Clongowes Wood College

During my 1992 visit to Dublin to attend the 13th International James Joyce Symposium, I stayed in the Trinity College dorm room overlooking the main thoroughfare in front of the college.  In  the summer of 2000 I returned to this great city to do some research and I took great pleasure in revisiting the college's treasures: The Long Room in the Library, the "Book of Kells" exhibit, etc. (as always, click for a larger image).

Views of the West Campus and of the centrally located
Campanile Trinity College was founded in 1592, when "a small group of Dublin citizens obtained a charter from Queen Elizabeth..." (learn more).

The windows of my dorm room at Trinity opened to the College Green and to "the meeting of the waters."
