Tentative Itinerary for May 18-June 11, 2004.
*
Daily activities, transfers, field trips &  accommodations are listed in the calendar below. There are also contact addresses & phone numbers to be shared with your families.

* In Ireland most of our dinners are pre-paid. We’ll make our own breakfasts while in Sligo’s “Yeats Village” apartments, taking advantage of kitchen facilities.

* Breakfast Sessions will start most of our mornings.  Be ready to hear briefings about a day’s activities before we depart.  I’ll offer lectures about what you are going to see/read about on a given day--and why it matters J  Throughout the entire Program you are expected to take notes & write in your travel logs—your notes will come in handy when you work on your final project, “travel-slide portfolio” web site.
Since you will receive CDs with poetry of W. B. Yeats, I expect you to be familiar with those poems that feature sites from around Sligo & Galway.
In Dublin, we‘ll visit James Joyce Centre & historical sites related to Yeats & other writers.  My lectures on Yeats, Joyce, & Irish history should help
with your final projects.
*
In Italy our breakfasts are pre-paid, but we’ll be on our own for lunches & dinners, enjoying some reasonably-priced restaurants.
* Admissions to all attractions and museums in Ireland (& most  sites in Italy) are pre-paid.
* Our potential field trips in Italy are not covered: I will try to book them through Hotel Patrizia on site, so please be prepared to have 60 euros available for the (optional) Siena/San Gimignano Day Tour, and/or 40 euros for the (optional) Arezzo Trip.  If bookings for those Tours are not available, we will enjoy Florence.
