Responsible for the supervision of students through their student teaching experience. Work with teachers and administrators to provide appropriate learning opportunities for students. Develop and direct seminars to provide further professional growth and training for student teachers. Teach senior and graduate level courses in Research and History and Foundations of Education. Develop research projects related to current educational issues.
VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE AND STATE UNIVERSITY

Projects involved:
(1) Conducting interviews and administering post traumatic testing for
flood disaster victims for a grant from the National Institute of
Mental Health.
(2) Conducted a survey for subsidizing telephones for low income families
for a grant from AT&T.
(3) Directed a Research grant for a study of Juvenile Delinquency in
Montgomery County for a grant from the Department of Criminal Justice.
(4) Served as a member of the research team for the S-194 Housing Research
Project for seven southern states. Project involved constructing
questionnaires, conducting interviews, planning data collection
procedures, collecting and analyzing data and writing research reports
and articles.
1984-86 Research Specialist Office of University Development.
Responsible for implementing Faculty Staff Campaign. Coordinated committee activities and made presentations to groups for campaign. Served as a resource person for regional campaign activities. Conducted research for major prospects and corporations. Responsible for developing data bases and reporting systems for campaign. A temporary position based on the needs of a capital campaign.
1978-79 Assistant to Dean, College of Arts and Sciences.
Coordinated academic information systems and internal reporting. Developed program review guidelines. Conducted program evaluation studies, developed data bases and reporting systems for faculty and staff information. (Position was to fill in for person on leave of absence.
NEW RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE

1970-83 Director of Institutional Research and Professor of Social Science.
Planned and organized the Office of Institutional Research. Developed office procedures and supervised staff members. Coordinated reporting systems for state and federal reports. Established in house reporting system for enrollment and grade analysis, faculty workload studies, enrollment projections and other special studies as needed by the administration for decision-making. Conducted needs assessment studies, follow-up studies and retention studies. Coordinated all data collection and analysis for Southern Association Self Study and college master plan. Served on state master plan committee. Made presentations at state, regional and national meetings. Organized and participated in state and regional conferences. Teaching responsibilities included advising students, serving on committees and teaching courses in Government, History, and Statistics.
