During the study abroad, each student will stay in a single room at the Vandon House Hotel, which is located near Buckingham Palace and St. James' Park (www.vandonhouse.com).  The 2008 and 2009 London Study Abroad groups stayed at Vandon House, and everyone was pleased with the hotel.

Vandon House is owned by Central College of Iowa, which uses the hotel during the Fall and Spring semesters for its study abroad programs.  Vandon House provides a continental breakfast, and students will be able to use some kitchen facilities.  There is a lounge with TV and four internet computers, and someone is on duty 24/7 at the desk by the front door.

Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, the St. James Tube stop, and Sainsbury's grocery store on Victoria Street are a five-minute walk from the hotel.  Victoria Station is a ten-minute walk.  There are restaurants, pubs, and banks within a few minutes' walk.

Vandon House is very inexpensive compared to other lodging in London -- in 2009, each room was £34 per night, breakfast included -- and is a very pleasant place to stay.
