Register for Services:  Initiating Assistance

In order to initiate services with the Disability Resources Office (DRO), students with disabilities will:

  • Provide a copy of appropriate documentation to the DRO

  • Register with the DRO

    • Upon notification that your documentation is complete, you will need to complete the necessary DRO forms in the office (Tyler Hall, Lower Level Suite 54-69)

  • Schedule an appointment with a DRO counselor to:

    • Review your documentation and discuss previous use as well as, current need for academic accommodations

    • Discuss existing campus resources pertinent to our needs

    • Develop reasonable accommodations consistent with the documentation and student's input

    • Explain DRO/University procedures involved with the provision of needed services such as volunteer note-takers, testing, interpreter requests and other reasonable academic accommodations.

If requested by the student, DRO staff are available to assist in clarification by calling (540) 831-6350 or via email at  dro@radford.edu
