Distribution & Migration

The black duck is primarily found along the seaboard of eastern North America.

It can be found as far inland as Texas and Saskatchewan and

Northern peninsula of Quebec to southern Florida (5)

Migration:  When temperatures fall these ducks start migrating south.  In North America the four major fly routes are the Atlantic, Mississippi, the Central, and the Pacific.  Black ducks mainly follow the Atlantic flyway.  They move in masses of 20-100.(7)
