"Eight Years Ago Today" is a video that was posted on the internet by Doug Thomas on September 11, 2009. The video was created as a reminder of what happened on that exact date, eight years ago (hence the title of the video). Displaying the planes that crashed into and brought down the Twin Towers on September 11, 2009, Thomas revealed the emotion of that day by letting screams and cries of surrounding people be heard throughout his video. Much of the emotion of this video was due to music playing, screams sounding, and the dramatics of the scenes and sounds. Some of the dramatics that were constant was the camera zooms. The camera would zoom in and out of the pictures of the screen, making what happen in New York on that day, seem more real and nearby to everyone who watched. The opening was a song playing and showing the Statue of Liberty. Starting out with showing a close up of the Statue of Liberty, Thomas then showed the Twin Towers still standing. He showed them from different angles and at different parts of the day. Thomas then cut the music, and let the New York City ambient noise be the background sound for the video. He then went to showing firefighter on the ground. Soon after we would see a shot of the planes crashing through the buildings, people screamed, smoke rushed through the city, and the buildings crumbled.
