- Prepare music prior to rehearsal according to weekly rehearsal schedules.
- Be prepared to sing scheduled sections in quartets or individually.
- Warm-up prior to class.
Grades are based upon a series of memorization tests and class attendance. The attendance component is conditional upon the student's active participation; participation in all scheduled rehearsals, and attendance at concerts.
MEMORIZATION TESTS
There will be 3-4 memorization tests per semester. Students will be assigned membership in a quartet team. Due to the smaller numbers of altos and tenors, some of these voices will be asked to sing in more than one team. The tests will be by appointment. Grading will be pass/fail. Students failing a memorization test will receive one "Get out of jail free card" which will allow the student to take the test a second time. Students failing two memorization tests will receive a failing grade for the class regardless of attendance.
