MAJOR PROJECT - PAPER NUMBER ONE PAPER IS DUE: 30 September

INTERVIEW WITH A PROFESSOR

Choose a faculty member to interview (no grad. assistants allowed) Schedule the interview between 2-20 September. Remember, many of the UNIV 100 classes will be doing this project...professors have a limited number of hours to meet with students. **Schedule the interview early not the day before the paper is due! Remember --- "Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency for the professor!" Paper is 2-3 pages. Double spaced, typed, no fonts larger than 12 point type.

SUBJECT -

• When the professor was a college student did he/she interact with, and/or find interesting other disciplines?
• How does the professor interact/find helpful interacting with other disciplines today?
• Sub-topic: How did the professor choose his/her major?

**** BEFORE THE INTERVIEW

1. Read sample interview information the text.

2. Write up your questions.

3. Relax...over 90% of the students to whom I have assigned this project in the past made a personal connection with a professor which they found to be valuable and worthwhile.
