Notes:
Map analyses of the dominant discontinuities reveal that groundwater flow paths point directly from the old & new waste water management systems to the rockfall release areas.
Discontinuity orientation data collected in the field were plotted on various maps and diagrams. Summarized in the map above, the dominant discontinuities (along which water will surely flow) point directly from the septic leach fields to the rockfall source areas active during the operation of those leach fields.
The dip-vectors match in three dimensional space, that is to say, both in the map view (seen above) and in the cross sectional views (next frames).
- Happy Isles 1996 rockfall area
- Approximately 900 feet from discharge area to rockfall source area
- Curry Village 1998-present rockfall area
- Approximately 1400 feet from discharge area to rockfall source area
