Since I joined the Business Faculty at Radford University, my major
teaching responsibilities have been in the areas of finance, insurance and
real estate. I also served as the
Director of the MBA Program for a total of 15 years and I served as
Chairman of the Department of Finance for a three year time period. I
helped to establish the Financial Management Association at Radford
University and also, the Student Managed Investment Portfolio Organization
(SMIPO). I serve as the faculty
advisor to these student organizations.
Our SMIPO students invest and manage a portfolio of over $300,000
provided by the RU Foundation.
Family
My wife, Jean, and I live in Radford. We have a married daughter, Jennifer,
who lives in Mt. Airy, North Carolina and our son, Don, lives in Radford.
Hobbies
In my spare time, I enjoy sports.

My primary areas of teaching
are real estate, real estate finance, insurance, personal finance, and
business finance.
My research and publication interests are primarily in personal financial
planning, real estate finance and Investment and Investment strategies. I
am fortunate in having many national publications during my time at Radford
University and have been quoted in Money Magazine, The Wall Street Journal,
Mutual Funds Magazine, Elle Magazine, The Chicago Tribune and other national
publications.
