This course focused on advanced music printing techniques for six days at the Radford University Center for Music Technology. Students learned to create multi-staff choral and instrumental scores as well as lead sheets. At the conclusion of the course, we recorded an audio track in the score of an original song by one of our students, Michael Glass. Here are the words for his song. The string accompaniment is performed by the computer sound library while the guitar and singing is the audio track performed by Michael with vocal harmonies provided by the class. You can hear the recording of this song by clicking below:

Music Printing Techniques Using Finale

Finale Man
by Michael Glass c 2008 All Rights Reserved

I'm a Finale Man doin' the best I can
I can shift and click with both my hands
I can transpose anywhere you want to go.
I used to like simple but it's way to slow.
Now I use speedy 'cause I'm in the know.

I'm a Finale man from Newport News
I got lots of short cuts that I can use.
Semi-colon grace notes they work great.
I can insert measures; I can duplicate.
I really like Finale 2008.

I'm a Finale man as you can see.
I can print a score pretty as can be.
Full of articulations and expressions too
Keys that change, levels 1 and 2.
Crescendos and accents but only a few.
Yipee Yi-Oh Ki-Yea
