Course Description
Technology has touched all aspects
of education, especially music. The course Technology in Music Education
has provided an excellent opportunity for us to increase our knowledge
about using computers to compose and perform as well as teach music. During
the week, topics such as MIDI basics, sequencing, music printing, music
instruction software, World Wide Web techniques and selecting hardware
and software for the music classroom were addressed. Through lecture, discussion
and practice at individual workstations we experienced each topic. This
course better equipped us to meet the challenges of integrating technology
in our teaching and everyday lives.

The Class
The seven of us were from different
parts of Virginia. We varied widely in age, teaching experience and in
computer knowledge. Even so, our common goal and eagerness to learn made
us a compatible group. We were always ready to be helpful, to laugh at
ourselves and most of all, to be patient with each other. We can say unequivocally
that Dr. Mahin was the most patient of all. Through frustration, power
outages and a plethora of questions Dr. Mahin made it successfully through
the course and so did we!!
Here we are!
