Audition

• 30 second scene
• Not memorized
• To be presented to the class – an audition for a Summer Rep. Company
• Class will select a cast for the company

Out of class project

Examples:

• Research topic related to a theatrical form ie. Playwright, Musical Theatre, Melodrama, Shakespeare – more in-depth study of the topic than covered in class.
• Audition and perform in a production – w/ a one to two page summary of experience
• Write a play
• Work backstage on a crew for 15 hrs and write a one to two page summary of experience

In class Report

• 10 – 15 minute presentation on a theatrical topic
• IE WCW, Opera, Ballet, Commedia del Arte, Conceptual styles of Romeo and Juliet, African Theatre, a playwright,
• Include visuals in presentation and a bibliography
