Business Technology Park
Currently under development, the Business Technology Park is envisioned as creating new opportunities for students, faculty, businesses and community. Located on the Saint Albans campus, the Park will take advantage of the knowledge transfer that occurs by bringing academic and business resources together. Students can gain valuable knowledge through the internships and employment created by these alliances, while businesses can count on a young and eager workforce. Faculty will have access to executives to communicate facts, values, and opinions learned on the job.
Video Conferencing Classrooms and Facilities
Videoconferencing at Radford University provides a technology based educational delivery system consisting of two-way interactive video, audio and multimedia support technologies delivered through ATM and ISDN communication links to remote educational and business sites. Radford University currently has three videoconference distance education classrooms on campus in Young 201, 205, and the Waldron College. Extension sites are located at the Virginia Western Community College campus, the Roanoke Higher Education Center and classrooms site at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon. Another classroom will be opened in the fall at the Roanoke Higher Education Center. All classrooms are designed to deliver and receive live synchronous television courses. This network is used to enhance RUs ability to deliver credit and non-credit courses, training, advising and lectures and can be linked for videoconferencing to state, national and global educational and business sites.
