Monday, Sept. 8
Faculty Chamber Concert: The 2008-2009 concert season for the Music Department of Radford University opens with a very special chamber music concert. The performance takes place at 8 p.m. Monday. Guitarist and RU faculty member Robert Trent is joined by RU faculty David Allen (Clarinet), Carla Copeland-Burns (Flute), Jenice Riebe (Soprano) and Benjamin Wyatt (violoncello) in a fabulous chamber music collaboration featuring works by American composers Corigliano, Argento, Linn, Schubert, Gnattali and Kreutzer. The concert takes place in the intimate setting of the Norwood Room of the Bondurant Center for the Arts, 1115 Main St., Radford. Admission is free. Trent’s new CD with former RU flutist Leslie Marrs entitled “Music of Robert Fruehwald for Flute and Guitar” will be available at the concert.For more information contact 831-5177.
