Campus Awareness of Animal Rights is a fairly new club at Radford University. It was started in January of 1996. Our purpose is to make issues of animal cruelty and misuse known-on campus as well as off. We are open minded to everyone's point of view and anyone is welcome to join the club.
We have been working on an anti-dissection campaign for Biology students and our hard work has finally paid off! The Biology Department has agreed to offer a separate lab section for those students who don't want to dissect animals. (However, they will be required to study a human cadaver already dissected by upper level anatomy students) GOOD WORK EVERYBODY!! Check out an editorial written by CAAR member, Emily Hewitt, to the school paper about the health risks of meat consumption Click here to read member Jackie White's research paper about factory farming (she got an A on it, congrats Jackie!)
