Dr. Douglas Covington, President
PO Box 6890
Radford University
Radford, VA 24142

Dear Dr.Covington:

I hold the belief that every student should have the right to choose not to dissect because of sincerely held religious or moral beliefs regarding the sanctity of all life. I give my full support to any student who respectfully declines to participate in this inhumane practice. I believe that educators should respect the diversity of beliefs among the student body. No professor should attempt to force a student to conform to one method of learning when clearly another would be far more beneficial for that student.
I strongly urge the Radford Biology Department to consider the terms outlined in CAARıs proposed policy regarding alternatives to dissection. Please remember that all students deserve the opportunity to gain knowledge in a way that is most effective for them, in a way that does not ask them to compromise their personal integrity.

Sincerely,
