ANALYSIS--BEHIND THE WHEEL

Curriculum and Administrative Guide for Drivers Education in Virginia
PURPOSE
OF THIS COURSE:
To develop the ability of those students enrolled, to safely and
effectively teach the "behind the wheel" portion of driver's education
in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
COURSE
CONTENT:
These future instructors will develop the knowledge and skills necessary
to plan, instruct, analyze and evaluate the "behind the wheel" driving
lessons and performance of students. This
includes the development of nine (9) "behind the wheel" lesson plans. Students
will complete fourteen (14) observations of accredited instructors working with
their students.
To receive credit for the course, these future teachers must pass an
evaluation of their instructor.
Upon successful completion of this course and the HLTH 410 Driver's Education Theory, students will have completed the requirements for the add-on endorsement to teach driver's education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. To successfully complete this course, students must demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all materials contained in the "Curriculum and Administrative Guide for Driver's Education in Virginia."
