History of the Hive
January 1914 marked the first issue of Radford’s Annual. ‘The Radnor’ was first published for the college Radford Normal (Radford’s former name) and went on to publish many more issues from 1914-1917. Two years after the Radnor was dropped, a new yearbook was created by the class of 1919.
This yearbook proved to be successful in preserving the memories of our college careers. Filled with Kodak pictures of the student body, they also paved the way for clubs and organizational photographs. Perhaps this new concept had come too soon, for in 1920, the yearbook was voted once again to be discontinued.
