Along the River Seine

Paris, like so many other great cities of its time, was built around a river.  Boats were a major source of transportation then, and even today are a major tourist attraction as they lead expeditions  up the river from late morning until night.  Riding the river boat takes you through the heart of the cities and shows you much of its beauty.  There are a variety of boat tours and all can be located just a hop off a Metro stop.

The Bateaux-Mouches was the cruise line we choose and boat rides at mid afternoon and late evening were both quite lovely. Many sights from the city can be seen from here including the Eiffel Tower, France's Statue of Liberty which stands facing our own, Notre Dame, the National Assembly, The Louvre, as well as ornate bridges and statues.
