Another part of life and culture in Ireland is pub life.  The Irish have quite a reputation for drinking and indeed the pubs are quite full nightly with lively Irish young men having a good time. Strangely, though there are few young women at the pubs.  Yeats too, found time to incorporate this part of his culture into his poems

A Drinking Song

Wine comes in at the mouth

And love comes in at the eye;

That's all we shall know for truth

Before we grow old and die.

I lift the glass to my mouth

I look at you, and I sigh.

Other poems, too, mention drinking and pub life, but this is my favorite. I also discovered an Irish Blessing.

May you have food & raiment,

A soft pillow for your head;

May you be 40 years in heaven,

Before the devil knows you're dead.

I found this much entertaining as well.
