Churches/Cathedrals of Dublin
St. Patrick's Cathedral is Ireland's largest church and is told that it was built near the site of St. Patrick's baptism The original chapel was made of wood until the late 12th century when the archbishop rebuilt it with stone. Over the years, St. Patrick's became known as the people's church.

Right up the road from St. Patrick's is the Christ Church Cathedral. The cathedral was commissioned 20 years prior to St. Patrick's and it too replaced the wooden church that had previously stood there. It was restored once again in the late 19th century and all the monuments from the church at this time can now be seen in the church's crypt. Attached to the Christ Church Cathedral is Dublinia, a historic (although created for youths) museum which portrays a medieval Dublin.

Although not the only cathedrals in Dublin, they are two of the most famous and also the most beautiful that line the streets.
