The Art Department awards scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students. Students already enrolled may apply for Art Society, de la Burde, Fran Carson, and Z.L.Feng scholarships during the spring semester each year.

The Art Department also offers several graduate assistantships and teaching fellowships with stipends ranging from approximately $4000 to $8,700 each per year. Waivers for the out-of-state portion of tuition are also possible. These positions normally become available when a vacancy occurs, but seldom are there more than two or three openings available each year. Duties of graduate assistants and teaching fellows vary, but are under the supervision of our graduate faculty. Graduate teaching fellows are normally assigned to teach introductory art courses after completing 18 hours. To apply for a graduate assistantship or teaching fellowship applicants must submit a letter of intent directly to the Art Department Chair.
