My paintings are responses to the callings of living forms, experiences, history and feelings and lie on the slippery edge of cultural time sliding in and out of universal artistic traditions. I am interested in the dialectical tensions in forms that arise out of tragedy and hope. By constantly blending, transforming and remaking the surface of the picture plane and by exploring layers of contextual meanings, I hope to rekindle feelings of recognition and compassion in the contemporary heart.
