Because I believe that there is probably very little in the world which can better tell us about values, history, and psychology than architecture and art, I also believe that art history is an invitation to look at the world with new eyes, and to see the familiar as something unfamiliar. For me, this is the message of the experience of Christo’s Gates in NYC, just as much as it is the experience of having studied Russian constructivist theater.
