America's Cancer: The Death of the Intellectual Throughout the history of the world, the intellectual served two important positions: a firm base for carrying out an orderly society and efficient government, and providing the voice of reason to communicate criticism when institutions fail to function in a proper manner. In the modern world, however, the intellectual finds himself alienated, disenfranchised and dead. |

Complete with brown-nosing, timed water drinking, manicures and tanning beds, this debate was a major production for both campaigns.
