I'm Thankful For...

I find it now, in this time of plenty,
That thanks should be given
In a way quite witty.

As the holidays draw near, it is time that we see
All the gifts large and small
That technology has given unto us all.

I am thankful for the many mice I see wondering about:
Little ones, big ones - some with lights, some with spots.
Why, some even come with wireless dots
They hook into any computer, whether ps/2 or USB
And what good would windows be without them, you see?

I am thankful for monitors in all their shapes and sizes
CRTs and LCDs - and one can't forget the plasma TVs.
Screens so large now that it's not possible to fit on one's desk
Nay, they must be hung from the wall or projected on screens
Oh these are just a few of all the wondrous things.

I am thankful for iPods and apples indeed.
Without the apples we wouldn't have iPods or computers called "lamps."
Where would we be able to store all our ill-gotten music from the internet
without the iPod's wonderful capacity in such a small space.
Everybody's getting one, you know.

I am thankful for the internet; its speed's so great.
Why, I can sit and download all my favorite shows without having to wait!
But it never seems quite fast enough for my taste...

I am thankful for P2P programs, abundantly-useful things
They let me get software for free! Hooray! Yippee!
They've saved my butt many a time,
getting necessary programs without paying a dime.
And who can forget music, for what else can we do?
We sit in our college rooms and listen to tunes
all the long day through, for class is much too boring to actually go to.

Lastly, I am thankful for transistors,
without which none of these technological marvels would be possible.
A computer alone contains millions of these;
they perform so many operations
surprisingly with ease.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone; remember all the things for which you should be thankful.
