Computer users are rather used to things mysterously appearing on their desktops, and in their folders on their personal PC's. Anyone who has a roomate knows that things will disappear and reappear at will. In general though, things do not appear magically onto Palm OS handhelds. While I'm busy trying to find the source, let me tell you about Hard Rock Casino. Hard Rock Casino is the typical vegas-style game combination package which includes Blackjack, Slot Machines and Video Poker.

Hard Rock Casino is designed to be integrated with a PC version of the game. Much similar to GameCube and Game Boy Advance games, you can download a game in session from your PC onto your PDA, continue playing, then reupload your in-game status to your PC via hotsync. It's an ingeneous solution. Jamdat has included various icons you can use for your profile, and as part of the game-play, the more money you make, the further into "time" you advance. As you move ahead in decades, you collect clothing and icons of the decade, much similar to those you'd see in a Hard Rock Cafe.

The PC partner to the Palm game allows you to compare your stats with other players on the internet. In some respects, you can become just like a regular professional gambler at the Hard Rock Casino located in Vegas. I've found moving thru the first two decades is rather easy, but watch the house when you bet high in the 1970's. Hard Rock Casino makes a wonderful substitute for the routine card games that most people carry on their PDA. Interactivity with your PC and the internet are novel bonuses.

Now I just need to figure out how this managed to get onto my PDA!

Gameplay: 3/5 (pretty standard, no suprises)
Graphics and Sound: 2.5/5 (nothing spectacular)
Novelty: 4.5/5 (interaction with PC and internet are bonuses!)
