This summer was bad for our older celebrities, and this fall hasn't been much better. Whim takes a look at three we have lost recently.

The deaths of Rodney Dangerfield, Ray Charles, and Christopher Reeves put a sad air over Hollywood. Fans are heartbroken and people everywhere are hoping not to hear about any more celebrities passing away.

Christopher Reeves: Superman. One of the saddest days I can remember was when Reeves was thrown from his horse and paralyzed. People watched carefully to see if anything had changed, if Reeves would walk again. Although Reeves was an active stem-cell research activist, he died before he was able to walk again.

Rodney Dangerfield: One of the funniest (and unfunniest) people in the world. He is best known for his role in the movie "Caddyshack" and his great stand-up act.His humor was an acquired taste. He didn't hold back punches at himself and he didn't care if he stunk; in fact, that was usually his plan. I'm sure he made fun of himself as he was passing, as well.

Ray Charles: One of the most talented musicians in the world. He is known for such songs as "Georgia" and his Pepsi commercials he did for so long.Ray Charles' story is told in the movie "Ray," which was released Oct. 28 and will be reviewed ASAP. If only he could have been alive to hear it.

Fans are saddened by these tragedies and people everywhere are hoping to not hear about any more celebrities passing away.
