Radford takes a step out of the United States and lands in India. "Night in India" showed RU students what it is like living in a place such as India. Hosted by RUšs International Education Center, "Night in India" RU celebrated Indian culture on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in Heth Ballroom. "Night in India" gave the community of Radford to analyze and experience different Indian customs. Those who attended also got to try Indian cuisine while listening to the cultures music. There were many exhibits that showed the difference between American culture and Indian culture. Kids who attended were entertained many different activities, along with a multimedia show and a fashion show to showcase classic Indian clothing. "Night in India" is the highlight of the South Asian Cultures Festival which is currently going on at RU. The festival began in September and is scheduled to continue throughout the winter and end in April. The next scheduled event for the South Asian Cultures Festival is a Panel on Living Hindu Beliefs by Suchitra Samanta and Kay K. Jordan. It is set to take place on Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. in Cook 107. |
