Along with the falling of leaves and cooler weather, fall brings RU students the thoughts of the following school year. Not academic wise, but instead for living situations. Around this time of year the question heard all over campus is "Where are you living next year?" The main situation is who you will live with, followed then by the realtor. Radford's main three realtors are Price Williams, BCR and Bondurant. All three realtors have housing on both the Light side and Dark side. This is the time to start planning because come November, many are left out in the cold for the following year finding no apartments suitable to their needs. Most apartments come with air conditioning, while some houses do not. Many students opt to add more roommates at the thought of having a washer and dryer available at all times. For those planning to live on-campus, this is also a key time to find out who else is opting to stay on-campus and which building you are most interested in order to get your name on the waiting list. Some things one should look for when searching for the perfect apartment is how the realtor seems to keep up with the buildings, and how long it takes to get a maintenance worker to the apartment to fix a broken door handle, garbage disposal, etc. Parking is a big issue as well, with many apartment complexes sharing smaller parking lots. These are just some of the questions that should be asked when in the presence of a realtor to save you from problems later on after you are moved in. |
