Fresh Prince of Sports
What To Do This Summer?
| Published 04/30/04

The year is over. School year that is. This means it's time for Mr. Fresh to do what he's been doing all year: watching sports while drinking a beer. It's the life; you should really try it out. In Whim's last issue of the 15th season, I have listed a number of events where you too can experience what I do day in and day out.

The NHL Playoffs: April-May
The Drama Sport
No our beloved Washington Capitals aren't in it this year, but so far the playoffs have been very entertaining. We've seen a lot of close games so far, and if you get time check out some of the games on ESPN and ESPN2 on weeknights and ABC on the weekends.

The NBA Playoffs: April-June
The Wild Wild West
Some of the early first round games were boring, but things picked up. Everyone has been saying how great the west is, but don't be surprised to see an East team have a respectable showing in the Finals. I'm predicting a Timberwolves-Nets Finals.

A Full Summer of Baseball
America's pastime off to a great start
It might be the fact that the Yankees have gotten off to a terrible start or that the Orioles are on fire, but nevertheless, it seems this year there is a surprisingly strong interest in our pastime sport. If you get the chance make it out to the closest ball park near you or catch a game on the tube.

That's all, folks. Thanks for great Seasons 14 and 15. If you want to talk sports, I'm the guy to talk to, at dmckinney@radford.edu. Have a great summer, be safe, and live the life: watching sports with a beer in your hand!
