Whim's Weekly Newsletter
Season 14

10/03/03The Official Online Magazine of Radford University
Welcome

Ah yes, we are back for another enlightening edition of Whim. This week I‰d like to congratulate Amanda Hoffer on being nominated Staffer of the Week for her outstanding work with Whim. Our two previous Staffers of the Week were Berkley Pritchett and Zac Martin, although they appeared on the front page of the magazine, unfortunately they were not mentioned in Whim‰s Weekly Newsletter.

October is here and that means Family Weekend for the campus of Radford University. If your family is here this weekend, let them know about our magazine, because even reading from home, as a parent or family member, one can gain some insight to the minds of our student body here at RU.

Thanks for tuning in to another week of Whim; I know you‰ll enjoy the colorful content we have to offer. Enough listening to me ramble, get on and enjoy the magazine!

Features

A Con-Artist's Canvas
by Brandon Faust | Ritz Manager

Ridley Scott is genius. Yeah, you heard me. Any time he makes a movie, I sit back and say "Wow." His latest creation, "Matchstick Men," is yet another piece of art to place in the gallery of great movies. Check out why Nicholas Cage and Sam Rockwell chose to star in this instant classic.

On the Decline of Work Ethic
by Patrick McCormick | Staff Writer

How can managers expect for a minute to motivate people when they are not motivated themselves? How do you expect to find motivated employees when they have managers rarely seen? The answer is it simply can't be!

Art Gallery
by Ande Hearn | Artist

These are exciting times here at the Whim toon section. This week sees the premiere of the Art Gallery Showcase, where we feature artwork by Radford University students. Click in and enjoy, but please refrain from talking and stay behind the painted line.
