Hello and welcome to the first edition of Whim's Media Studies Showcase. This idea came about after I was approached by three ambitious Media Studies students that wanted to publish their hard work on the web. The three individuals that approached me are Steve Jacobs, Kevin Magee, and Nate Scott. Read on to learn more about what they've been up to this semester, and if you want to see your hard work up on the showcase, contact me at whim@radford.edu.

Interview with the Boogie Man
"Handsome Jimmy Valiant," AKA "The Boogie Woogie Man" is a Hall-of-Fame wrestler who for four decades had ruled the mat. Now, nearing 60, Valiant busies himself teaching his passions to young wrestlers in his own backyard. In addition to wrestling, Valiant is big on goals. He wants athletes to believe in both they're physical and mental abilities. (This file requires an MP3 player.)

National Rugby Champions
Right here at Radford University we have a National Championship Rugby team! Listen to this package to get the full scoop! To find out more about the Rugby team at Radford visit their website at www.radford.edu/~menrugby. (This file requires an MP3 player.)

Media Bias in Elections
Is there media bias in presidential elections? Check out this web site by Kevin Magee to find out.

That's it for our Media Studies Showcase, and remember, if you want to see your work showcased here contact us at whim@radford.edu.

Great job to all the Media Studies students who contributed to these pieces. I hope you continue to add more interactive media to Whim as I think it shows the direction that media is headed today.
