Spring Break has come and gone and getting back into the mode of studying is not quite as fun as relaxing by the beach or vegging out on the couch. However, being back in Radford has its upsides. Whim is back to publishing all of your local venting! This is the annual Breast Technologies Week for the Tech Section, and not that we want to steal any of their thunder, but Breast Week just wouldn't be complete without a few vents on the subject. As a special treat, local Media Moderator and Tech Section Guru, Kevin, has submitted his first Vent, which happens to be a special introduction to his Breast Technologies Week theme. In Vent, we will see how beautiful breasts really are (thanks, Kevin), and just how much women objectify themselves because of the breast (and Valerie). But don't worry if you are not a fan of breast technology, because our own political columnist Andrew has some more of that great writing that makes us Political Science nerds as happy as can be. And even still, another treat this week, Christie shares all about Kindness and what effects it can really have on the world. And finally, Shaggy gives us a whole new way of looking at one of our best friends in this world, Jesus. So go on, kick back, relax, crack a brewsky, and read Whim!

Breast Technologies Week Commentary From Its Creator
Kevin Martin | Tech Section Manager

Whim's resident Geek, Kevin Martin, takes the opportunity of the Tech Section's Breast Technology Week to share some of his thoughts and observations on the very topic that made him infamous (or notorious) as a first semester Section Manager for Whim Magazine. Not for the faint of heart, or for his friends, whom he lovingly calls "feminazis;" he shares with us his point of view, which is not so unique among men. You can view the Tech Section's Breast Technologies Week here, or read further in this week's Vent Section for more opinions on breasts and the attention they attract.

Helping Those Left Behind
  Andrew Lent | Staff Writer

In every society, there remains a group of individuals who are considered the lowest class. These are the poor, homeless, jobless, hungry, and disabled. This class requires special consideration and special care from others who are more fortunate in order to survive in this world. However, is society and the government doing enough to help these individuals? How can they be more efficient?

The Rules of Kindness
  Christie Griffith | Staff Writer

With a war on the horizon and our elevated fear of more attacks, Americans just have not been themselves lately. All we see on the news is scary, unsettling stories and we become nervous and grouchy. It's time for a change in our lives, and maybe that change should begin with us. Patience, friendliness, and respect are not words we use much anymore. However, even though they are great words, remember, actions speak louder.

Christ on the Corner
  Andrew Kinback | PR Manager

The Vent section of Whim is usually reserved for rants and vents about subjects and events that are normally negative. Many an author of a vent goes off on wild tangents, completely bashing the bad side of a subject, and many times rightfully so. So, sitting down at my computer to write a vent, I decided to do the opposite. I am going to vent in the positive about a subject that makes many people uncomfortable and turn away. I am going to write and vent to you about a friend of mine. Maybe you have heard of him. His name is Jesus, and boy that man can throw down and party!

Propelling the Breast Wars
  Valerie Beelman | Staff Writer

Women say that they're tired of being judged by men because of their breast size. This is understandable and fine. But I find that women play a major role in allowing the breast judgements to continue.

What do you Think? Third Edition
Nick Pietron | Vent Section Manager

So who loves feedback as much as I do? Well, then you are in the right place! I mean, every article in Whim offers a chance for feedback! Then you also have the Bruise Board for general complaints or props. But now, you can drop a line in every week's "What Do You Think?" section. Each week, we will feature one and only one item up for discussion. Come on in for this week's topic!
