Here we are again. Another week, another issue, another
chance to Vent. So, has anyone heard that the United States is on the verge of
war with Iraq? You have? Oh. Great, because we have more views on that
situation. Where would we be without our military? And where would we be
without our law enforcement? Greg kicks off Part Three of his Seven Eleven
series with a look at Radford's finest. And speaking of Radford, what is with
these class-cutting policies that keep us from graduating on time? Perhaps
Valerie can shed some insight. Finally, be sure to check out the bruise board
and the new weekly "What do you Think?" column! Cheers!

Dissapointment with "The Man"

If you thought the infamous budget cuts were bad,
try inspecting the course schedules. You may not be able to develop a plan
to graduate in time.

Just A Few Good Beers: Justice or Overkill?
Mike Flick | Copy Editor
Instead of the usual American politics, I have decided to vent about a recent
court verdict that has divided my hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia. On
August 16th of last year, parents George and Lisa Robinson decided to spend
$360 dollars on beer and coolers for their son's 16th birthday celebration.
The police eventually came and charged the couple with sixteen misdemeanor
counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The couple was found
guilty, and the commonwealth's attorney asked for 90-day sentences. What did
they get? Eight YEARS.

In recent weeks, many people have been wondering
who has the right to nuclear weapons and who has the right to control them.

Working at 7-11 Part Three: Getting to Know RU's Finest
Greg Woodruff | Staff Writer
These last few weeks, I've given you some insight
as to what it's like to work at 7-11. I saw many things and had many things
to piss and moan about. A lot of things I saw really pissed me off. The
world needs to change, and hopefully I can make at least a little difference
with these articles. For one thing, I hope to make you a better customer.

What do you Think?
Nick Pietron | Vent Section Manager
So who loves feedback as much as I do? Well, then you
are in the right place! I mean, every article in Whim offers a chance for
feedback! Then you also have the Bruise Board for general complaints or
props. But now, you can drop a line in every week's "What Do You Think?"
section. Each week, we will feature one and only one item up for discussion.
Come on in for this week's topic!
