I loved Bert and Ernie, I remember watching them everyday when I was a kid along with Big Bird, Snuf-a-lufagus, Maria, the Count and the rest of the gang. Ernie was and is one of my favorite characters on Sesame Street. And Nick I feel your survey is missing an important option, it does not matter what their sexual orientation is. It really does not matter, and if it was because of rumors about their sexuality that put them on hiatus then Public Television just lost a lot of my respect. They are good role models for any child, just like most of the Sesame Street characters. I am pretty sure both Bert and Ernie are back on Sesame Street, but they should have never been off.

Nick--we go from the death penalty to Bert and Ernie?!? Man!! Well, I guess they're cool in my book even though I haven't seen the show in over a decade. Last I heard, one of them died due to both of them being gay and having many exploits..but I don't know if I should trust a stoned teenager...? But I also heard that the South African 'Sesame Street' introduced a character with AIDS because the country has a serious AIDS epidemic...I guess stupid crap like like shouldn't really surprise me anymore. Viva la Bert and Ernie.
