So who loves feedback as much as I do? Well, then you are in the right place! I mean, every article in Whim offers a chance for feedback! Then you also have the Bruise Board for general complaints or props. But now, you can drop a line in every week's "What Do You Think?" section. Each week, we will feature one and only one item up for discussion. Here is this week's topic!

What do you think about the death penalty? Leave feedback and tell us what you think?

Good god, Nick. Well I agree w/ you about the weapons thing. We can be trusted, I think with such things. Ya know, when I read that comment (and Mike's article), I agreed. Then, I got to thinking about it since I started writing this comment. Now I'm wondering why should we have such weapons? I guess it's for retaliation should other countries hit us with them. But I dunno. It poses a good question.

Same problem I have, Rach. Shaun, I agree with you too. I am kind of against the death penalty for that reason as well, but then again, I support US having weapons of mass destruction and not letting other countries have them, so I guess for me, it depends on the issue. When it all boils down to it, it is kind of the same thing.

A good friend of mine made a really great comment lastnight during a political debate we were all having (we do this sort of thing). Although it was almost a dumb comparison, it still holds a bit of reason. First, If I am of sound body and mind, and Joe Blow has been proven a complete psychopath with an intent to kill, then it is safe to assume that I will be allowed to purchase a gun from the store, but Joe Blow will not be allowed. The same holds true with the Nuclear Weapon idea. America is allowed to have what weapons we have because we have been proven to be responsible in their use and ownership, and all of our weapons are UN recognized. Iraq, on the other hand, is led by a ruthless dictator who enjoys testing weapons on his people.

Who is of sound mind and body here?

I suppose the whole death penalty could use the same argument as well. We can kill people because we do it in a controlled manner while they do it out of psychoticness or whatever reason. However, I still find myself a little apprehensive on the whole issue. Part of me sees the logic, but the other part of me is stuck on believing that "Killing is Wrong" rather than "Killing is wrong except when we do it". From a biblical standpoint, there are no exceptions, and our law makes no exceptions for anyone but our own govt. I guess I am still a bit unsure of how I feel.

Now that I have written an entire article on the feedback form, I am done. Feedback please! agree? Disagree? Let me know!

not to deter from the subject of this forum but i hated the pocs 130 quizes! i did one of those online subscriptions but because i only had a modem connection, that didn't last long. also - i always seemed to study the right articles, but would get everything jumbled up in my head when it came time for the questions.

oh, and um, i support the death penalty but prefer the less painful ways of executing.

How does our legal system show that killing and murdering is wrong? Why, we kill people! Hypocritical much?

Dr. Gill is quite possibly one of the best professors I have ever had. He actually turned my entire outlook on politics around and made me believe studying political science was fun, but those quizzes are killing me. Every time, it never fails: I will remember reading the story, but mix up the country and put down the wrong one. Every time. It stinks, but I am working hard!

Me again. I think the whole feeback forum is great, Nick, and there are plenty of topics to choose from! Keep it up! Here's a possible topic: Why must we take POSC 130 current events quizzes? We should have some great feedback on that!

i so agree with an eye for an eye...if you ar responsible enough to kill someone or commit a heinous crime not worthy of forgiveness, you are responsible enough to deal with an equally heinous punishment...

I agree Mike, it is totally a biggie for a first question, I might rethink that this week...But hey, I wanna pull a Daredevil thing myself "Lawyer by day, Judge and Jury by night"

This is a very tough issue to face. It's also very depressing for a first feedback question, Nick...haha just kidding. I personally believe in the death penalty. But it does have its many variables. Like, many people would agree to put a serial killer/murderer like Bundy or McVeigh to death but what about the scmuck who finds his wife sleeping with another guy and kills them in a crime in passion? I also believe the rate of people properly convicted will rise because of technology/DNA evidence...but who says are criminal justice system is perfect haha? Check out my article for that. OK, too much thinking at this time of night, and I already voiced my opinion and put in a plug for my article...snoochy bootchies

I think I should be the servant of the death penalty. Give me a sniper rifle, shot gun, and a beautiful sword and I will carry out my own justice. This world could have hope after all.

Am I going to have to start paying people to leave feedback?
