I can't wait for the glory that is spring break. I'm going to have the
best break ever. Going to the beach, you ask? No. What about skiing? No
again. So you may wonder where I'm going and what I'm so excited about. The
answer is simple: I am staying home in my apartment the entire time.
I find this to be a brilliant idea. The whole concept of a break to me is
having enough time to take a breather. I could save money (HAH!), make hotel
and travel arrangements, and finally arrive at some hot spot destination and
compete with crowds, but I'd rather not. Spring break is meant to offer
students and faculty an opportunity to rest. I have decided to take full
advantage of my rest. I am very excited to stay home, sleep, organize,
possibly do a bit of spring cleaning, and wear pajamas all week while I zonk
out in front of the TV. If I travel somewhere to party or sight-see for a
week, I may find that I have less energy when I return. Spring semester is a
difficult time because students start getting burnt out from the school
year, and frequently get a nasty case of spring fever. I personally believe
that staying home, resting, and storing the energy that will be needed to
complete this school year is the best plan. So, when other students return
with sunburn, windburn, and hangovers, I'll have a fresh face and will be
burning with energy to wrap up the semester.
So, for all the students who are unable to take that snazzy vacation, I
say bravo. Rest, recuperate, and enjoy. You may find yourself at an
advantage in the end.

While it is nice to sometimes take a trip, it is certianly something you can live without! I too, will be staying home and resting up for my spring break. On top of all the work I have to do for school, that is.

Yeah, Valerie, I can safely see your point myself. After figuring out my "big" trip to Daytona this year, I've come to literally see the money fly out of my wallet...Have a great break!
