This is probably the final edition to this series, and I hope you get something out of these articles. This article is a tribute (and a much needed and deserved one, at that) to the city and university police departments. You may think I'm on crack, but the truth is that I just may have seen parts of the world that you've overlooked.

Article: One of the greatest things about working at 7-11 is getting to know Radford's Finest. When you work at 7-11, the police department becomes your best friend.

Unfortunately, Radford police (city and university) don't get enough respect, and they deserve a lot! For some reason, the police don't get any respect. This is probably because most of the people who meet them end up doing so because they can't follow simple rules. This includes underaged drinking and public intoxication.

Many students feel that the police are inconsiderate and out to get them; this is not the case, I assure you. The police are just like us. They're cool, calm, considerate, and understanding. If you break they law and stir up some ruckus, they are only doing their job by calming you down. If you're out causing trouble and being disorderly, you need to be calmed down anyway.

If the police decided not to do their job, what would be the point of having them? There would be chaos and havoc. This city would run amuck with drunken hooligans and there would be no peace. This would mean, of course, that I'd have to purchase a shotgun and run amuck in the city, destroying such hooligans.

So, the next time you see a police officer, follow the rules. The rules are there for a reason and the officers are there to protect us all. Don't be so disrespectful of them. The officers are cool and the rules are easy to follow. Go up and talk to one of them and you'll see what I mean, I'm sure of it.

On a final note, if you're going to do something, don't get caught! Don't get drunk and run around the city screaming about it. That's just asking for trouble.

Nah, don't even mess with the shotgun man. It's all about the Boondock Saints approach. Never harm the innocent, take out the corrupt, and do it in style with a Latin prayer and a double tap to the back of the head.

Thanks. Yeah, I got to know the police and they're cool people, really! I often wave at them or say hey to them. I know many of them by name and I feel close to some of them. I really do like some of them. I have my favorites. Some are funny as shit, but I haven't met a bad one yet.

Moo, pig, moo! I mean, oink oink, popo. Ha, but all stereotypes aside, on a serious note, I am glad Radford's police are here to keep our streets safe. Personally, I envy the work of any law enforcement in a college town. I know that Radford is not huge, like some schools, but we have just as many people who benefit from police who look out for our town. We salute you, RU law enforcement. Excellent article Greg!
