Snood was issued in 1996. Since then it has spread far and wide. The game was originally written in C using Sprite Animation Toolkit. While this is the original framework, much of the graphics and sound have been converted to Direct X.

The game is great. It has five levels of diffuculty as well as a puzzle mode and journey mode. The object of the game is simple. Just clear the screen. As easy as it sounds, it can be devilishly hard, especially in evil mode. What's especially cool is all the snoods. They are several faces that make changing expressions. Very cool. Game play can be altered and there is an aimer for those who aren't the surest shot.

The only true drawback to this classic? Free copies eventually begin harassing you to register the product before almost every new game. It becomes almost too much to take. I guess the creator really wants to get paid. Other than that, the game is pure fun.
