Pheromones, defined as a chemical secreted in tiny
amounts to create a reaction from another organism, play a significant part in
reproduction, attraction, and possible medical benefits. Today, pheromones are
studied extensively and could be the key to true love and sensational sex.
Discovered in 1986, pheromones are found mainly in the armpits. A special
organ in the nasal cavity detects them and sends a reaction to the brain.
Certain pheromones appeal to this picky organ, so finding the right person for
you may have to do more with scent than any other factor. Human pheromones are
extremely diverse amongst their species. What makes you attracted to anotheržs
scent will be much different than that of your friend. Studies have shown that
pheromones typically make you notice and be attracted to a person
with a different immunity than yourself. This is naturežs way of strengthening
the immunity within the species.
In women, pheromones lower the amount of estrogen in their body, making them
more fertile. Pheromones also sync womenžs menstrual cycles with other women's.
So if a group of girls live together, most likely they will menstruate at the
same time. In men, pheromones increase sexual desire and enhance longevity.
As for sensational sex, pheromones affect women more than men. Women exposed
to pheromones have more sex and have it on a regular basis. For both sexes,
however, pheromones improve mood and can alleviate stress.
Many studies have been conducted on pheromones, for there is still so much
to learn about them. Having great chemistry with someone is not just a saying;
pheromones could have a greater effect on whom we choose to love than any
other
factor. So when you see an attractive girl or guy, take a whiff. It could be
love.
