Clients are typically free and small, and there are various ones to choose from depending on the features you seek. I have only used a couple of them, but you may benefit from experimenting with all (or some) of them to find out which you¼d prefer. One example of a great client to use with Live Journal and U Journal is Semagic. This client allows you to save entries, write offline and submit latter, spell check, and detect music on Winamp, along with various other features.
