Q: I'm leaving town for break. What should I do with my computer?
A: Well, some folks take their PC home. If you don't, you should be sure that you turn the PC and all of its accessories (printer, scanner, speakers, etc.) off. After you've done that, unplug everything! Don't forget to unplug your network cable, phone cable, cablemodem cable, and all of those accessories. While all dorm students must unplug everything, off-campus students often forget to do so. While students are gone, the local utilities try to do a lot of "catch up" work, which often results in power disconnects, surges, brown-outs, etc.

Q: What do Geeks do during Spring Break?
A: Most geeks play lots of games. This geek will do lots of homework and catch up on his consulting.

Q: If you could travel with only one technological toy for Spring Break, which would it be?
A: Well, considering my arsenal consists of a Radar scrambler, a Tungsten-T, a Laptop, a cellular phone, various game systems, a camera, a "databank" watch, and a handheld scanner among other things, that's a tough question! Most likely, I'd choose between the cell and the Tungsten. Fortunately, I doubt I'll ever have to make that decision.

Q: You like "etc." don't you?
A: Yes. Et cetera is my Latin phrase for the day.

That's all for this edition of Ask the Geek! Come back after Spring Break for more questions and answers. Also, be watching for "Breast Technologies Week," coming soon to the Tech Section.

Remember to send your questions in so that we can answer them for you! Until next week, happy computing!

This geek will be playing video games and looking for a job, but that's no different than any other time of the year. Ok, so this geek will be doing the above things in the peace and quite atmosphere of Radford while all the drunks are away. Yay! =)

Radar Scramblers don't work. one does exist, but it only works for X-band and after it's initial creation the creator proved his point and moved on. http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=6000 ^Proof^
