Marquette: Midwest
The Golden Eagles have had a terrific story this year. The assistant coach Trey
Schwab's story about his health has been touching, and Dwyane Wade is now
getting the respect he deserves and has really carried this team. The Eagles
don't look like the best team in the field of four but have shocked so many
other teams in their tourney run that maybe we shouldn't count them out.
Kansas: West
The Wildcats played through a great game against Arizona to get to this point
and have a really good chance of making it to the final. They've played through
the toughest bracket and managed to pull out wins against Duke and Zona... very
impressive. Collison and Hinrich are two great players, and look for Keith
Langford to step up. I'm a fan of Roy Williams, and I must say I'm sure he'll
have his team ready to go in this one.
Texas: South
I apologize. I didn't give the Longhorns much credit. Texas got here by beating
Michigan State, who no one expected to make it that far. Nevertheless, Texas
isn't too far from New Orleans and should have a decent crowd on hand. T.J.
Ford needs to be brilliant like he has been all year and will need some back-up
from Mouton.
Syracuse: East
The Cuse looks to be the most athletic team in the rest of the field and can't
ask for anything more from their two talented freshmen, Carmello Anthony and
Gerry McNamara. I like this Orangemen team, and if they don't play like they
did when they beat Oklahoma, which was a very sloppy game, then they have a
great shot.
