![]() Graphic By: Andrew Kinback I have personally been listening to both Faust and Shortee for at least four years. So I was completely shocked to find that music like this was coming up to Radford. I was able to see the last 45 minutes of their show. They had been spinning some '70s and Funk music for a bit and started with their Drum and Bass set as I showed up. Their performance was great. Shortee did some outstanding beat juggling while Faust mostly stuck with his excellent scratching. He seemed bored with the crowd and music, but perhaps he was worn out from their visit with UNC the night before. Unfortunately, the show had to end a little early. The people that were attempting to breakdance in the grass behind the headnodders kept kicking a cord, which caused the power to shut off. It got old after a few times, so Faust and Shortee called it quits. I received a copy of their latest album, "Satisfaction Guaranteed," which was being thrown out by Shortee. I was smart enough to bring my own music for them to hopefully autograph. They were both really nice and were more than willing to do so. It was awesome to see some of the real hip hop heads from this area. We were thanked for coming out, and I think several left with them to get some Chrusties over at Chancey's (Shortee knows her way around Radford). Faust and Shortee definitely made up for the bland appearance of Busta Rhymes previously. It's always nice to see real musical artists do their thing.
