As far as movies go, the late winter/early spring months tend to be rather dry, as most studios wait and unleash their blockbusters starting on Memorial Day. I knew something had to be coming out, so I took a quick scan down Yahoo Movie's Coming Soon section, and these are some of the highlights I found.

  Daredevil Opens: February 14th, 2003
Based upon the Marvel comic, this long-awaited flick stars Ben Affleck as the title character, Jennifer Garner as the leather-clad assassin Elektra, Colin Farrell as Bullseye, and Michael Clarke-Duncan as The Kingpin. For those of you not in the know, Daredevil is Matt Murdoch, who, as a child was blinded by radioactive waste. Although he lost his sight, his other senses were heightened to super-human proportions. This one has the potential to be really good, or really bad.

The Hunted Opens: February 28th, 2003
Tommy Lee Jones and Bencio Del Toro star in this action-adventure thriller. Del Toro plays a forest dwelling killer who escapes into the city, and now two FBI agents must work together to capture him. The few commercials I've seen for this look great, and it has Bencio Del Toro (The Usual Suspects), so how bad can it be?

  Identity Opens: March 14th, 2003
John Cusack is known largely for his comedic roles, but with this film, he branches out into the thriller/mystery genre. A group of strangers find themselves at a deserted motel, and slowly their numbers begin to dwindle as they must figure out who the killer among them is. I havenät seen any commercials or trailers for this one, but if it has Cusack in it, it has to be good.

  Dreamcatcher Opens: March 21st, 2003
Based on a Stephen King novel, this film, starring Morgan Freeman and Jason Lee, is the story of four young boys who receive powers after performing a heroic deed. Now they must use those powers to save the world. I havenät read the novel, and since it's based on a King book, it could be hit or miss, but since it stars Morgan Freeman (who was also in The Shawshank Redemption), it canät be all that bad.

  The Core Opens: March 28th
The planetäs core has stopped turning in this scientific thriller, with catastrophic results, and now a team of scientists must try an experimental procedure to return it to normal. Hilary Swank stars in this one. I havenät seen any trailers for this one, and the concept sounds kind of iffy, so Iäll have to wait until it comes out to pass judgment.

Dreamcatcher was a great book. I think it's up there with Bag of Bones, and Green Mile.

Dreamcatcher is pretty good. Actually, it was the first King book that I really liked since IT and The Shining. Very good book, should be a great movie!
