In the past two months, Comedy Central has given shows to two of the most under-rated comedic talents today: Colin Quinn (Saturday Night Live) and Dave Chappelle (Half Baked). The formeräs show, despite being quite funny, was cancelled after only after a handful of episodes. Now Comedy Central has unveiled Chappelleäs show, called, interestingly enough: "Chappelleäs Show" (Wednesdays at 10:30 PM).

Chappelle's Show @ Comedy Central

The half-hour show is sketch-based, with Chappelle introducing each segment. The humor style is satirical; in the first episode he pokes fun at Volkswagen commercials and the Office Depot, lampoons Nat King Cole, and in the final skit, which must be seen to be believed, plays a black man raised as a white supremacist. Chapelle pulled no punches with this skit, throwing around the Ün word more times than Iäve ever heard on network television.

Iäm glad to finally see a showcase for Chappelleäs talent, and particularly one that lets him utilize his unique brand of humor. I sincerely hope that this show can find its niche, and the rest of the world can appreciate the genius that is Dave Chapelle.
